Mosio Launches Mosio Tags: Streamlining Text Messaging Automations for REDCap Users

Following a successful year-long beta period, Mosio Tags is now available to all Mosio customers.
Mosio Tags addresses a critical need for research teams using REDCap, the widely adopted secure web application for building and managing research databases used by thousands of institutions worldwide. The feature allows researchers to configure text messaging workflows—including automated message sequences (Storylines) and appointment reminders—within Mosio, then trigger them seamlessly through REDCap alerts and notifications.

- Update participant variables and workflows dynamically without manual intervention
- Eliminate duplicate data entry between REDCap and messaging systems
Mosio Tags uses a streamlined “no-text” tag format within REDCap alerts, allowing researchers to trigger automations without sending immediate messages to participants. This approach gives research teams precise control over when and how participants receive communications, while maintaining clean separation between data management and messaging functions.
The feature is particularly valuable for clinical trials, longitudinal studies, and multi-site research projects where coordinating participant communications across different study phases and locations can become complex and time-consuming. By automating these workflows, research teams can reduce administrative burden and ensure consistent, timely communication with study participants.
Mosio Tags is available now to all Mosio customers on both Basic and Plus plans and requires no additional fees beyond existing Mosio subscriptions. The feature integrates seamlessly with existing REDCap-Mosio configurations and supports both storyline enrollments and appointment reminder workflows.
