-sonnyblanco (2Q / 56A) Thu Nov 22, 2007 9:20pm

A new study found that the MRSA virus can create proteins that are capable of killing both white and red blood cells. So yes, it could be a cause.
-seanbow (0Q / 6A) Thu Nov 22, 2007 9:20pm

MRSA can be the same for other bacterium that cause septicaemia. symptoms include high fever; raised white blood cell count; rigors (shaking); disturbance of blood clotting with a tendency to bleed and failure of vital organs.
-sonnyblanco (2Q / 56A) Thu Nov 22, 2007 9:22pm

But Doesnt MRSA effect your immune system? So wouldnt that cause ur white blood cells to go down?
-xjaejaex (3Q / 0A) Thu Nov 22, 2007 9:26pm

newly diagnosed MRSA have raised wbc. untreated, MRSA can break down the immune system eventually and may cause low wbc.
