What do you do to a coffee maker that has an acidic/gross taste? Join or Log In to answer.
Run it through with a baking soda solution. Removes odor, boils away ick. :)

* Soak your coffee pot with vinegar, and wash your mesh filter with soap, if you have one.

* Fill the coffee pot with the vinegar and run the coffee maker

make sure any filters are cleaned well. you can also run it with water only a few times to clean out any residue.

* After the coffee maker has run once through, remove the coffee filter and rinse it off.
* Remove the coffee pot and pour out the remaining vinegar.

NOT baking soda! Mix one part vinigar and one part water, run that through with no grounds. Then 2 cycles of just water.
