what was the cost for a good pair of leather gloves in the year 1914 and the year 1917? what would those prices compare to these days? prices in usa please. thanks mosio Join or Log In to answer.
Looking online the average price seems to be about $30. I used this inflation calculator (http://tinyurl.com/4j8njp) and it gives me 1.43 and 1.66 for 1914 and 1917 respectively. I'm not sure how accurate that is.

-KungFuKitten (441Q / 3419A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 9:24pm

I have not been able to find your answer but I did think this was interesting...in New York City's Upper East Side there were 3,707 twin births in 1995; there were 4,153 in 2003; and there were 4,655 in 2004.
-sharonnray (4Q / 74A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 9:47pm

Triplet births have also risen, from 60 in 1995 to 299 in 2004.

hey mosio, i need opinions please. i have seen in movies where 2 people are scuba diving and they both run out of air, then the put there mouths together and keep breathing back and forth into each others mouths. my question is, would that even work with the amount of co2 we breath out? im thinking it wont b/c theres no o2 being transferred, only co2. thats my thought, now i would like your thoughts about this. thanks mosio. The only way this would work is if one had a tank of oxygen and they were sharing this oxygen.

thats what i thought. thanks.
-Hawk616936 (30Q / 587A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:07pm

Actually, it would work for a very short while - even our exhaled breath contains fairly high levels of oxygen.
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:07pm

You'd only get a half-dozen useful breaths, though...
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:07pm

(To rivalarrival)
maybe thats all is needed to get to the surface.
-Hawk616936 (30Q / 587A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:08pm

thanks
-Hawk616936 (30Q / 587A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:08pm

Wouldn't this be the same as if you just held your own breathe then?
-poppeseed (128Q / 460A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:09pm

(To poppeseed)
Yeah, but you're tricking your lungs into thinking your still breathing, and you're purging the alveoli, which contain the highest concentrations of CO2.
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:10pm

(To poppeseed)
maybe, but when you pass air into some one else your lungs are still moving, as if you hold your breath, your lungs dont move
-Hawk616936 (30Q / 587A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:11pm

(To Hawk616936)
I get where you're coming from. Just seems unbelievable to me. :|
-poppeseed (128Q / 460A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:12pm

(To poppeseed)
I don't think it's standard procedure, or even likely - your energy is probably better spent getting to the surface than meeting up with your dive partner to swap spit.
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:37pm

it'd work to an extent, like cpr.
but if you are diving and run out of air you make an emergency ascent, the air expands in your lungs as you rise

-Hawk616936 (30Q / 587A) Sat Nov 22, 2008 1:08pm

but i thought if you come back up too quickly its bad for you b/c your body wasn't able to decompress.

Price range eee pc entry to high end please Join or Log In to answer.
I'm seeing $299 - $699 on newegg. Most of the better equipped models seem to be between 400 and 500.
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Thu Nov 20, 2008 8:57am

Mine is an older model 701 (original eeepc) w/ 4gb SSD. I'd be happier with the larger screen, but other than that, it's done everything I need. No need to go crazy over larger disk space, etc.
-rivalarrival (79Q / 1419A) Thu Nov 20, 2008 9:00am

Thank you ram more a concern than disc space

It can run and do anything your own PC can. Office, web, games, etc. It's just smaller. Prices range from 300 to 500.

Drink recipe baby guinness Join or Log In to answer.
2 1/2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1/2 oz Bailey's® Irish cream

Pour Kahlua, almost filling shot glass. Then, carefully pour Baileys, using wall of shot glass. This will give the "Guinness" its "head".

Is there any other Point Of Sale software besides dinerware i can install on to First Data terminals and server Join or Log In to answer.
You might check out OpenBravo POS... I'm not sure what a First Data terminal is, though... if it runs windows, mac, or linux, OB POS should work.

-Mangangali (30Q / 6759A) Wed Nov 19, 2008 10:33am
