Anything i could do to my ankle while i wait to be rescued?
At least bind it tightly until you can do anything. If you can, splint it. The idea is to immobilize it. Do NOT remove shoes or boots - bind over the shoe. If your ankle swells, you may not be able to get your shoe back on.

If you have Ibuprofen or Aspirin, it will help with both the swelling and pain. Tylenol will only help with pain. If you expect rescue, don't walk any more than necessary, and carry as little as possible.

Find/make a sturdy walking stick / crutch.
You'll want to apply gentle heat - not ice - to help relax the muscles. Topical treatments (icy hot, bengay) can be used for comfort, but they will not speed recovery.
