I feel like people are getting burned out on Facebook Apps. Everyone's been bitten by a zombie by now. OpenSocial = New.

while the list of supporters of opensocial is steadily growing, facebook is still stealing flocks of users from the other social networks.

That's a great point. Facebook does have a bunch of users ready to use it. You can get to a larger group faster.
