how do I turn off the camera sound when I take a picture with my sony ericsson W300 ? I haven't found anywhere where it

I don't see anything either, just someone else that didn't like it. Have you tried muting it before you take the photo?

yes, it does not work... the whole phone is silent, but when I try to take a picture it makes one of four annoying sounds

I did that... under that screen you can select one of four shutter sounds.... not one of them is silent.

This is common with cell phones. My Samsung is the same way; you can't turn off the shutter sound.
