"A lightning bolt has over 1 million volts, and 5,000 and 20,000 amps." http://is.gd/HCb

The voltage depends on the length of the bolt, with the dielectric breakdown of air being three million volts per meter; this works out to approximately one gigavolt (one billion volts) for a 300 m (1000 ft) lightning bolt.
