Why does one mug get hot in the micro while another seeming exactly the same, doesn't?

Position in a microwave will determine how much energy each object absorbs. So i think it matters how they were placed & material of the mugs

thanks! happens to the same set of mugs all the time, no matter the position. i think its a materials issue that i don't know much about...
