Tourist reviews here says pretty much everywhere in Amsterdam is walkable, if you are reasonably fit.U may also get going by tram,from Vondelpark to Central

to travel you must bring: I-20 signed for travel by an international student adviser within the last 6 months, EAD card, Valid passport and US visa, and Evidence of employment in your field of study(letter of employment, written job offer)
