practical usages of an eeepc? Can it run excel? Wifi? Webpages? Thinking of getting one to buy more time to save for a decent laptop.

mang, ask again in the morn. i know jamers has one, he can fully answer. great for travel. they can do web/google docs, etc. they run linux, so maybe open office.

It can run and do anything your own PC can. Office, web, games, etc. It's just smaller. Prices range from 300 to 500.

You might check out OpenBravo POS... I'm not sure what a First Data terminal is, though... if it runs windows, mac, or linux, OB POS should work.
