In 1973, the brand name "Timberland" was introduced for the waterproof leather boots produced by The Abington Shoe Company in Boston. Because the boots were very popular, the name was officially changed to The Timberland Company.

The Abington Shoe Company (incorporated in 1933) was renamed The Timberland Company in 1978.

does anyone know of an online dropbox where someone could easily upload files to me? I don't want them to have to create an account or send me a link (so gigasize is out). I need something REALLY simple. Join or Log In to answer.
try www.uploading.com
-wjones10 (0Q / 11A) Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:22am

Oh sorry, I didn't notice that you didn't want to get a link. I don't know of anything like that.
-wjones10 (0Q / 11A) Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:23am

I've found box.net to be pretty easy. You have to create an account and let people upload to it, but it's pretty simple
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:23am

Comments:
that sounds like what I need.
-bcrayner (250Q / 499A) Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:25am

(To bcrayner)
I used it at my old job to get people to upload photos. It's like an online storage drive. Good luck!
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:28am

(To Robot)
yeah... that's EXACTLY what I need it for!

Thanks!

what is the conjugation of "to do" in first person past tense en espanol Join or Log In to answer.
I'm guessing you want the translation for "I did"? That would be "Hice". To do is "hacer".
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:37pm

Thanks!
-forty5cal (55Q / 13A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:37pm
Then what is the irregular haz for?
-forty5cal (55Q / 13A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:38pm

All the translators I checked said "Haz" means "beam".
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:40pm

Hm. Thanks tho

Does cow tipping work? Join or Log In to answer.
Sneak up on a sleeping cow, tip it over, run like heck...:)
-modcom (37Q / 4917A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:29pm

Do people actually do it?
-aaronr (41Q / 0A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:30pm

I suppose it depends on your goals. Cows sleep standing up, so if your goal is to push one over while it's sleeping without getting mauled, it will "work" if you put some muscle into it.
-KungFuKitten (402Q / 2731A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:31pm

Comments:
I say let the cow sleep. She's going to be slaughtered and eaten anyway, at least give her a good night's sleep!
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:33pm

(To Robot)
I'm with you Robot! Never did it, but it actually seems like one of those "uh, that was stupid" type of things.
-KungFuKitten (402Q / 2731A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:35pm

Also a great scene in Tommy Boy.

-modcom (37Q / 4917A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:32pm

It's actually higly debated. There have been scientific studies saying it's impossible. Other say they do it all the time.
-Robot (20Q / 1140A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:33pm

Comments:
oh its doable, but you got to have a 3-5 guys to do it, them cows are heavy. Watch out for pissed off farmers w/shotguns, farm dogs, and cow pies.

For all intents and purposes, yes; although being a college student, I really don't have much use for a landline anyway.

no; to get the high speed internet plan we have, a land line is required. We have a home fax that uses the home #, too.

What kind of store should i go to find mace Join or Log In to answer.
Mace like pepper spray? Small hardware stores usually have it or an everything-you-need-under-one-roof kind of place like Walgreens or Target.
-andria (2Q / 5A) Mon Aug 18, 2008 12:20pm

Also try Ace Hardware or sporting good store. Your best bet would be a surplus store.
