What age is too young to have a cell phone? Join or Log In to answer.
6 is too young, but if you really want to get all technical there are adults I don't trust with cell phones.
-Wulfen (1Q / 33A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 11:51am

pre-teens. i say give your kid one when he/she turns 13.
-slikwacko (0Q / 2111A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 11:51am

12 and under. I've seen those kids phones, though and I don't have kids, but would love for them to be able to call me.
-KungFuKitten (379Q / 2259A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 11:52am

To be honest, I think no one needs a cell phone until they're 18. Phones get kids into trouble.
-ChristineSoundclash (20Q / 113A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 11:55am

Im going with 14. Not many kids need to have direct access to mom and dad before highschool hits, but if both parents work i can see one having a simple call plan as soon as they hit 7th grade.
-confucius (45Q / 263A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 12:00pm

i think there should be a max age for cell phones. Stop calling me to leave a voicemail saying you called, just text me!
-sharkey (54Q / 1225A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 12:10pm

Comments:
so true! i get at like 2 voicemails a day going "hey, it's dad. call me"
-slikwacko (0Q / 2111A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 1:10pm

(To slikwacko)
is it bad when you actually text your family more than you talk to them?
-Mangangali (5Q / 1579A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 10:53pm

Depends on the phone. I would give my child one of those children ones from Disney now under the right circumstances.
-melodyx (57Q / 297A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 12:19pm

Comments:
too bad, disney stoped it cell phone company and handed it over to kaijet(?), it's very siimmiler but no disney phone's. I want one- being a disney geek and all.:)
-romanpower (52Q / 29A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 12:33pm

they get a phone in 6th grade, middle school, everything happens!
-romanpower (52Q / 29A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 12:31pm

I think under 11!
-bridgeport (22Q / 457A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 7:29pm

10 just know you to name an age.
-Mangangali (5Q / 1579A) Tue Jul 1, 2008 10:56pm

12 and younger. I don't think it looks right for anyone under 15 to have one really, but sometimes parents need to have peace of mind.

Nah, that's just creepy...
-bigcastoro (28Q / 2056A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 12:52pm

Heck no!
-bridgeport (22Q / 457A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 12:52pm

What an awesome question! I think probably not, but I'd be so sad if my kitten died, I might consider it for a sec.
-KungFuKitten (379Q / 2259A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 12:58pm

no. dude i would totally think it'll turn evil and eat me.
-slikwacko (0Q / 2111A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:02pm

Depends on the animal and its intelligence. I might do it just to see. Plus after a while i'll probably forget i did that.
-quink (43Q / 801A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:06pm

I always think of "Pet Cemetery", Don't want to be eaten by my cat...:P
-modcom (36Q / 3594A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:50pm

why clone the dead ones? I would clone the live ones and see how they interact. :D
-confucius (45Q / 263A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:54pm

nah, becuase then you would not save another awesome pet from the pound or ARF!
-romanpower (52Q / 29A) Wed Jun 25, 2008 5:01pm

Comments:
beautiful answer; although this may stir up controversy, I feel the same way about purchasing purebred animals. BTW, I would not clone one of my pets; it's so fun to get new personalities.

Would videoconferencing on a cellphone be an amazing new feature or something that would barely interest you? Join or Log In to answer.
I think it would be pretty cool, but probably wouldn't use it too often. Seems like it'd drain the battery.
-KungFuKitten (379Q / 2259A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:07pm

i don't see a bunch of ppl standing on a subway holding their phones 7in from their faces and talking business out loud.
-confucius (45Q / 263A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:07pm

Its got a cool factor but I doubt I'd use it. There's some people I call specifically so I don't have to see them!
-mylicon (17Q / 455A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:08pm

I imagine once I have kids, if I ever had to travel for work or something I would definitely want to see their faces.
-nbosch (20Q / 300A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:27pm

i think it's a great idea, even if i don't use it often, i'd like to have the option
-sharkey (54Q / 1225A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:31pm

I agree that it would be a great feature, but with the programs like Skype and open wi-fi readily available also, I don't see any real demand for it.
-poppeseed (85Q / 246A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:52pm

That would be awesome for those of us in a long distance relationship as
long as it didn't cost too much per month
-shortness817 (7Q / 12A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 2:40pm

Barely interests me. Its a neat feature for sure, but I already video conference with my family.
-Mangangali (5Q / 1579A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 5:29pm

I agree with the many answers before mine!
-meowdoc (12Q / 258A) Tue Jun 24, 2008 8:41pm

It would be a great feature if it was incorporated into the design of the phone very well and if it didn't cost a whole lot extra

Does using a hands free device make you a safer driver? Join or Log In to answer.
Sure!
-melodyx (57Q / 297A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:06pm

Absolutely
-Stack (0Q / 169A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:07pm

I think it makes you a little safer, but not as safe as not talking on the phone at all.
-KungFuKitten (379Q / 2259A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:08pm

Besides the studies that show it does *NOTHING* to make you drive better, common sense says your brain is still divided between talking and driving.
All it does is remove the 1 second of fumbling with your phone.
-quink (43Q / 801A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:09pm

Comments:
but it does allow me to add urination to my driving repertoire while i'm on the phone.
-mylicon (17Q / 455A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:15pm

(To mylicon)
...what?
-slikwacko (0Q / 2111A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:16pm

I think it does in the sense that it does not interfere with hand-eye coordination but it doesn't take away from the mental distraction of a conversation.
-mylicon (17Q / 455A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:12pm

yes. (manual car)
-slikwacko (0Q / 2111A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:17pm

No way!
-bridgeport (22Q / 457A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:26pm

No Difference, Safe either way
-modcom (36Q / 3594A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:27pm

Not at all... sometimes i'll hang up the phone and not remember the last 5 minutes of driving... and i'll still hold the phone in my hand anyway... plus i'm italian so i do a lot of hand gestures while talking
-bigcastoro (28Q / 2056A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:34pm

No. You can still get into an accident
-shortness817 (7Q / 12A) Mon Jun 23, 2008 1:45pm
